SPOTLIGHT: EMBLEM’S AMERICAN ARRIVAL

One brand will be making its U.S. debut this month with a New York location that pays tribute to its French roots. Emblem, a Paris-based atelier, has opened a space at 171 Spring Street. It will showcase French craftsmanship through four prominently featured brands.

Martin Pietri, the Emblem founder, curated the showroom. It pays homage to the classic French indoor-outdoor garden. Anne Pericchi Draeger designed the space. It features furnishings that complement Emblem’s brands and continue the flora/fauna theme. For example, the Zuber wallpaper has Virginia creepers, birds, and flowers. Condiment carpet, on the other hand, has a banana-leaf pattern. Emblem, a Frenchman Pietri has known since its inception, has settled in the U.S. atelier of Alain Ellouz.
Pietri says, “At both the beginning and end, it’s an adventure of friendship.” His products are of the same quality as ours. Although they are different products, we have the same customer base, so it’s a win-win situation for both of us. ”
Pietri has been a prominent figure in the French design scene for a long time. He is a product of one of the most prestigious cabinetmaking families in the country and was awarded the National Order of Merit by the French government to preserve the craft. He aims to carry on that tradition within the city’s renowned design community by opening the New York showroom. Pietri says, “It’s an inheritance for me. I try to carry this history for Emblem over the sea.” “Coming to New York was a very, very significant step in my business’s history. ”
